What is Photography?

Photography is the process of making an image through the use of light. Photography can capture static or moving images for a variety of purposes. Photography uses artificial light and natural light sources and other types of light-sources, like sunlight and strobes.

The photography industry has grown over time to include many fields including portrait photography, commercial photography, fashion photography in addition to more traditional areas such as nature photography. With technological advances capturing images became easier with cameras that are smaller than ever before combined with digital imaging technology which allows photographers to make swift changes during post-processing resulting in better quality photographs.

Photography Equipment

In order to produce photographs, it is necessary to have photographic equipment. This brings me to the type of equipment used by photographers.

Camera Bodies

The camera body is the most important piece of photography equipment. The cameras are designed for different scenarios such as photography, film or video and surveillance.

A lens is a device which focuses light onto an image sensor to form pictures. There are various types of lenses including telephoto, wide-angle, zoom lenses and prime lenses.
